Copt Hewick Volunteer Fire Brigade -

probably the world's smallest fire brigade!

TLF8s – 800lpm pumping appliances with water tank – page 1

A TLF8 is based at each of the three fire stations of the Brigade. (See here for more information on the fire stations.) The two older versions, shown here, follow a common design apart from the length of the main ladder carried. The appliance operating out of the Old Central Fire Station and serving the mediaeval Old Town carries a 7m double extension ladder for ease of manoeuvrability in the narrow streets, while the other appliance based at the New Town Fire South Station carries a 14m double extension ladder. Both also carry a roof ladder.

A three-quarter front view of a TLF8. The brigade has three of these, two to the same design apart from the ladders carried, and one to a slightly different design and equipment.

Right side locker equipment. The two lengths of suction carried on the roof are also visible. The new design TLF8 carries different equipment in this locker.

Rear view, locker doors closed.

Rear view with doors open showing portable pump, hydrant and hydrant key, branch and foam branch. Next to the portable pump is a collapsible warning triangle.

Three-quarter left view.
